About Felicity

My West Country Wedding is run by Felicity Cornelius. She previously worked in
planning strategic Airline Operations for an International Company before opting for a change of
course and achieving a wedding planning Diploma.
"Organising is definitely in my blood. I love working with people, planning in detail and helping
people realise their dream weddings on any budget" says Felicity. "No matter what their wishes
for their big day, I like accommodating all tastes which constantly broadens my horizons; no two
weddings are the same!"
Felicity is certified by the Institute of Professional Wedding Planners and offers affordable
packages for any size of wedding budget. "I don't want people to think of employing a wedding
planner as a luxury that only the biggest budget brides can afford. The cost of my services
can often be massaged into a budget by favourable rates from suppliers, and maximising my
commercial relationships in the sector, saving you time and money along the way. This service is
for everyone, and I guarantee it makes the process so much simpler.
One of Felicity's key tenets is to never take any decisions away from the Bride or Groom, but
simply facilitate the decision making process to ensure it is a much more enjoyable and stress
free time for everyone. "My role is to listen and absorb the couple's wishes, do the leg work
and the research and present my work back to the couple who in turn get to do the fun parts by
picking what they like, taste testing and viewing venues (with or without me). They will always
have as much control as they wish and always make the final decisions. I am not here to take
over, only to support, advise, get the work done and be the one to bring it all together, so that the
bride does not have to spend months worrying. My aim is to make the planning process as much
part of the special memory as the day itself".
Clients are dealt with according to their own personal wishes. You can pick and choose as many
or as few of my services as you see fit and I will plan as much or as little of the wedding as you
require. My services include:
- putting you in touch with local suppliers or sourcing and negotiating with suppliers on
your behalf;
- allowing you to utilise my wide Subject Matter Expertise and contacts in the Industry;
- offering a supportive and calming influence;
- keeping you on track with regular checklists;
- creating and constantly reviewing your planning timeline and budget control.
In short, I am at your service, so the planning of your big day is stress-free and fun and that you
experience the perfect wedding day for you and your partner.
My fees range from 10% of your overall wedding budget down to a one off payment of £300 for a
contact by phone and email service to keep you on track, no matter how many times you contact
me or how long it takes. Alternatively I can carry out specific tasks from as little as £80. So it
really can be an affordable and vital service, not just a luxury.
I am available to all my clients on the phone and email 24 hours a day, seven days a week and
endeavour to assist in any way I can with my friendly, practical and creative approach.
I look forward to hearing from you and wish you the very best in the exciting run up to your
special day.

Why Choose A Wedding Planner?

Often when planning such an important event as a wedding it is very useful to have an objective
third party involved, (i.e not a member of the family), who can offer impartial advice, add some
further vision, support you, who you can bounce ideas off and whose knowledge of the industry,
coupled with your own ideas can get you a lot further than tackling it on your own.
Many people believe that common sense and knowing what you want can get you by in the
planning process. I believe this is true up to a certain point. The diploma in wedding planning has
taught me that there are so many more dimensions involved in such a complex event. No detail
should be overlooked, whatever the budget, when setting up such an incredible event; burdening
yourself with sole responsibility and remembering everything can often take the pleasure out of
what should be a very enjoyable and exciting process.
A wedding can take between 200-300 hours to plan and that is a fairly daunting task to a bride
with other commitments in her life.
The huge advantages of employing a wedding planner or bride's assistant are the savings in
time, money and worry. Having help is not just a luxury for the biggest wedding budget; all
girls should have access to some! The cost of which can be paid for out of the savings that can
be made with the correct contacts, cost saving schemes and knowledge that the planner will
bring. It is my job to be vital yet affordable to all brides with all budgets, by being competitive
with my prices, offering all the little extra's possible and ensuring your wedding always has that
professional edge, as well as being a master in time management and delivering the very best
results within that time frame.
Some brides like to do it all themselves whilst others prefer handing over all the organisational
side to a planner so she can get on with her busy life in the months leading up to the big day.
Others fall anywhere in-between this. You can choose from a range of packages. You could
choose a wedding planner to oversee and co-ordinate the whole wedding process or simply
various parts of it that you find the most challenging. You could opt for a bride's assistant to be on
hand whenever she is needed, (for example to view venues with), to ensure you ask the correct
questions and get all the information and extra's you need. Or you could just allocate the wedding
planner specific tasks to oversee, using her knowledge of the process and market. For example
this could involve researching and sourcing the best local suppliers of wedding cakes, presenting
the results, waiting for a decision and then booking, re-confirming and co-ordinating that choice.
Or simply just having her available on the phone for regular advice plus regular emails with check
lists and timelines to ensure you are always on the right track within your timeframe and budget.
Another choice is to employ a wedding planner just to co-ordinate the actual wedding day so that
you are free to focus on enjoying the momentous occasion with your partner, family and friends.
Whatever suits you and your needs - the control will always be with the bridal couple. I will
prepare a concise and tailor-made wedding proposal to suit your needs so you are always clear
about where my services will take you and what you can expect from me.
So which planner should you choose?
I would always recommend you choose a planner who is approachable and easy going whilst
being super efficient and professional. Someone who will always listen to your ideas and follow
your wishes. It is important that she understands how much you would like to do yourself and
always allows you to have a much control as you want to have. A sound knowledge of the
ceremony etiquette, the planning process and of local suppliers and the best deals is a must.
Above all a strong and fun relationship is important as the better she knows you, the better she
will be able to understand your vision, put all your dreams into reality and create your perfect
wedding.
